Almost all south and eastern Europe is being hit by an intense heat. There are several countries on alert and nominations for the population to avoid leaving home in the hottest hours.
The heat peak will be on Sunday, but this Saturday there are millions of Europeans to suffer from very high temperatures. In some regions of Spain, especially in Andalusia, 45 degrees are expected.
The month of June is already being one of the hottest and still missing July and August, with the usual weeks of suffocating days and nights.
In Spain, in recent weeks all regions below 1,500 meters of altitude have registered temperatures between 8 and 12 degrees above normal for this time of year.
After a day of relief, this Friday at the end of the day the intense heat reached much of France, especially in the south, near the Mediterranean, where the thermometers will be very close to 40 degrees. French authorities warn of the danger of fires in rural and forest zones.
In Greece, used to very hot summers, meteorologists say that the effects of climate change are obvious and that temperatures are rising, systematically every year.
