The best massage glasses

Our expert has chosen the Renpho Eyeris 1 model that unchecks its competitors for their great design, ergonomics, autonomy and a pleasant use and, above all, more satisfactory use.

More and more devices oriented to personal well -being. On this occasion, I am going to focus on the ocular massagers or massage glasses, an accessory that offers various advantages such as relieving visual fatigue, calming localized inconvenience and reducing the swelling of the eyelids.

Its operation is very simple. Provided with a band to easily adjust them to the contour of the head, they are equipped with small engines that apply different types of massage in the eyes of the eyes and temples. This ‘treatment’ can also include – depending on the model – vibrations, heat or air pressure. It is also usually usual for them to reproduce relaxing music alone, for which they offer the option to connect to the mobile by Bluetooth to listen to our playlist and turn each session in a much more pleasant moment.

As we have chosen and tested the products

The four models included in this comparison are available on Amazon and have a price below 70 euros, which makes them accessible to most pockets. I have developed the tests throughout the last month and a half with sessions of approximately 15 minutes. And the moment of the day I chose to carry out the tests was the afternoon, after completing my workday because so many hours in front of a screen ends up an invoice in one way or another.

These have been the aspects that I have valued in each of the analysis:

  • Design: From the point of view of the manufacturing quality, materials and gove finishes.
  • Ergonomics: Are they comfortable to carry and adapt well to the face?
  • Usability: If the controls allow the different functions to simply manage.
  • Experience: If the massage handle fulfills its mission, what kind of massages provides, if autonomy is sufficient and, most importantly, if after trying it we notice any real improvement in the ocular zone.

Who is it for: Recommended if you value, in addition to a good experience of use, an excellent design, ergonomics and broad autonomy.

Why have we chosen it: Although all the models that I have analyzed have liked, I recognize that this proposal is the one that has convinced me most in terms of design, ergonomics and experience of use. Its folding format, with a structure similar to that of a virtual reality helmet, incorporates a system that allows you to fold it very easily, since it does not require applying strength. The inner part, meanwhile, has been super comfortable: its padding adapts to the eye contour, does not generate annoying heat and the skin does not irritate or the least. Its adjustable tape remains stable all the time, and the adjustment mechanism offers firm resistance that transmits security and durability.

On one of its sides, these ocular massage glasses integrate three buttons with high sensitivity that allow to turn on and turn off the device, change between its five massages and regulate air compression or sound volume. Regarding the results, I want to highlight that the sensation of heat appears in approximately three minutes (it is an especially comforting sensation), while the intermittent pressure on the eyelids and temples, combined with the vibration, creates an effect that ‘wraps’. As for the sound, the noise level is expected for this type of devices and does not interfere in the experience. Regarding the musical experience, it manages to differentiate itself from the rest.

Your weak points: Nothing stable that is important.

Who is it for: aimed at users who want an economic alternative and with highly feasible results.

Why have we chosen it: These ocular massage glasses cover completely and seal well on the sides. With a double padding that avoids direct pressures on the eyeball, its adjustable elastic tape adapts firmly without tightening or sliding. However, in one of the sessions that I prolonged more than usual, I perceived a slight brand (nothing important) in the forehead to take them away.

When trying them, the sensation reminded me of a fingertips: soft tights, first in the eyelids and then in the temples, with an intermittent pressure that varies depending on the way you choose. I have also taken a pleasant surprise with its constant heat function, which also helps to reduce tension, while the environmental sound mode brings some integrated clues that invite you to relax, such as the sound of rain or a piano, although I preferred to connect my mobile by Bluetooth and enjoy my own musical list. It is controlled by means of a menu with four relief buttons, which facilitates a quickening and simple enough learning curve.

The battery has, on the other hand, an autonomy close to a week with moderate daily use, and the function of self -appoard after 15 minutes not only prevents overheating, but also helps to prolong its duration. In my case, after four complete sessions, there was still enough load for a couple more.

Your weak points: The quality of its internal speakers is fair.

Who is it for: If you want some massage goggles with LED screen, keep reading!

Why have we chosen it: It has An easily recognizable design in white and soft lines: its adjustable strap does not squeeze excessively and the internal, soft and padded part, adapts to the superior shape of the face without leaving spaces or generating discomfort. With five vibration massage modes, one gets used quickly to alternate between them until we find the most appropriate to our needs.

How about the air compression function? The feeling reminded me of that of a soft but firm intermittent massage that begins in the eyes and extends to the temples; Logically it is not comparable to a manual one, but you feel quite comfortable because it is not at all uncomfortable or invasive. For its part, the temperature, which ranges between 30 and 42 ° C, remains on a comfortable level and is no annoying; It looks a lot like the feeling of supporting a temperate cloth on the eyes and you feel some relaxation and relief.

As with other devices in its category, the battery is recharged by a USB-C connection. The load cable is included, as usual in this type of products, and with moderate use, autonomy can perfectly reach a week.

Your weak points: The volume of music is somewhat limited. In addition, the connection between massage goggles and the mobile phone is not always stable enough.

Who is it for: If you are thinking of acquiring a device of this type for the first time, this option could adjust to what you need.

Why have we chosen it: They fulfill their purpose quite well in general, although after being with them a while you perceive that there are a step below the other ocular massage glasses included in this comparison. What I liked is its 180º folding design, a characteristic that facilitates them without occupying too much space and allows them to be more comfortable during the displacements. For its part, the closure adapts without too many problems to the diameter of the head.

As in other proposals, they offer several modes that alternate heat, music, vibration and controlled air compression. Although the experience has not been the best, I cannot say that I have completely disliked me. I have noticed relief in eyelids and temples, but it is a light relief, not at all deep or therapeutic. Therefore, I would recommend those who are looking for a ‘fast rest’ after many hours in front of the screen, since if what they want is a more intensive massage, they probably remain with the desire, as they say colloquially.

Your weak points: I received some pressure on the nasal bridge and its manufacturing quality did not finish convincing me, especially if you think about intensive use. The materials meet, but do not transmit too much robustness. The speaker has, on the other hand, an excessively metallic sound and the connection with the mobile was interrupted several times. In addition, the functions control is performed using a sequence of pulsations after turning on the device with a backlit button, which was not intuitive.

Other interesting eye massage glasses models:

If you are looking for eye massage glasses with remote control: The Vavor model incorporates this serial accessory. It has a folding design, a battery that offers up to 90 minutes of use and five massage modes.

Frequent questions

Can they be used with contact lenses or graduated glasses?

They are not advised while wearing graduated glasses or lenses. For a comfortable and effective experience, it is better to remove them before starting the massage because the glasses need to adjust to the face and work directly on the eye zone without elements that interfere with the pressure or contact.

Do they make a lot of noise?

Some models emit a slight sound due to the functioning of air and vibration engines, although it is usually not annoying. In fact, most users barely notice after a few minutes of use, and those who prefer a more immersive experience can mask this noise listening to relaxing music through built -in Bluetooth.

Are they sure if the user wants to use them daily?

Yes, they are safe for daily use whenever they are used in moderation, for example, once or twice a day during sessions between 10 and 20 minutes. Even so, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and, if any ocular condition or previous medical condition is suffered, it is advisable to consult a specialist.

Do they weigh a lot?

No, they are not heavy. They are usually manufactured with light materials and have a padded interior that provides comfort. Whenever the belt is well adjusted to the head, they can be carried without generating discomfort.
