A video that circulates on social networks this week shows a pastor – whose identity has not yet been revealed – addressing a faithful in a thrift store to charge tithing. The scene, recorded by the woman herself, caused indignation among netizens.
During the conversation, the pastor presses the faithful about the contributions she had been making to the church and says, in an authoritarian tone: “I am your pastor, you have to obey the voice of the angel of the church”referring to his own figure as spiritual authority.

The approach generated a wave of criticism in the networks. Many users called the religious “militia with Bible”, “spiritual loan agiot” and “charlatan,” while others reported similar experiences in churches they frequented in the past.
In the comments, a user reported: “I was 13 years old, I put coins in the tithing envelope and the pastor embarrassed me saying that I received allowance and had given the wrong value”. Another said that the pastor even went to his brother’s house to charge late tithes, even with his family going through difficulties.
So far, the pastor has not publicly spoken out about the video.
