Iran expanded on Saturday the reopening of their airspace to foreign airlines that fly over their territory, but the flights are still suspended in many regions, especially in Tehran, on the fifth day of a high fire with Israel.
Iranian airspace was completely closed on June 13 after Israel launched an unprecedented attack against Iran. On Wednesday, flights resume progressively, but only in the east of the country. In other places they continue to be suspended, particularly in the capital Tehran, where both airports remain closed.
“The airspace on the center and west of the country is now open, but only for international overflow,” said Transport Ministry spokesman, Majid Akhavan, cited by the Irna government press agency. No date has been set for the complete resumption of flights in the country.
