In his tenth Formula 1 test, Gabriel Bortoleto scored for the first time. The Brazilian of Sauber arrived in the eighth place in the GP of Austria, played at the Spielberg circuit on Sunday (29), which ended with the victory of McLaren’s pole position Norris.
Bortoleto kept the position in which he dropped and took a test without mishaps. Norris faced the pressure of his teammate, Oscar Piostri, second placed on the finish line, which surpassed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc on the podium.
The race started with starters. Spanish car Carlos Sainz was locked on the grid and failed to leave the return return, which led to the suspension of the start. Upon entering the pits, the car brakes began to catch fire, soon contained by the Williams team. The incident delayed the beginning of the race.
In the first lap, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was hit by Andrea Antonelli from Mercedes and his car rode. Safety Car entered the track, and the two riders had to leave the race.
With the result in Austria, Pistri remains in the lead of the Pilot World Cup, with 216 points. Norris has 201 and follows in second place, followed by Max Verstappen, with 155.
The GP of England, next stage of the season, will be played on July 6.
