The city of Rio de Janeiro will undergo a special operation of safety, mobility and logistics due to the BRICS leaders summit, which takes place on July 6 and 7. Preparation for the event, however, begins at the end of June, with technical meetings and ministerial meetings scheduled in different parts of the city. The scheme includes interdictions in the South Zone, closure of the Flamengo landfill and the leisure area on the borders of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, as well as the temporary suspension of the operation of Santos Dumont Airport. Closure of the leisure and traffic area in the south zone
Flamengo landfill (total closure from 12h on the 5th to 11:59 pm on July 7): Total closure for ordinary vehicles: from 12 noon on Saturday to 11:59 pm on Monday. Only entourage and accredited vehicles can circulate in the area. Continuous grid will be placed between the Estácio de Sá monument and the students clover.
Access to Flamengo Beach (total closure at 8 pm on the 5th until 3 am on July 7): Pedestrian circulation will be restricted in safety areas and access to the beach will only be through underground passages. Access of bicycles, quadris, scooters, drilling objects, glass, umbrella or flag-hat will also be prohibited. In addition, the catwalks will be closed for circulation from 2am on July 5. The city also informed that there will be a total block on July 4 for operational training of security forces from 6am to 8am. Traffic will be cleared after this time.

Access to Santos Dumont Airport
Day 5: Flamengo landfill closure impacts the route to the airport. Passengers should plan to avoid unforeseen events.
Days 6 and 7: Santos Dumont Airport will be closed to commercial and executive flights, by determination of the Airspace Control Department (DECEA), the Air Force Command Organ. On the 7th, the restrictions continue until 18h.
River
During the delegations passage on July 6 and 7, the entire edge of the South Zone and Aterro do Flamengo will be closed for leisure. Between July 5 and 7, the Copacabana neighborhood will have total blockages and 24h access control. The main interdictions include:

Copacabana: Avenida Atlantica will be banned in both directions from 10 pm on July 5 until 11:59 pm on July 7. Only residents with proof of residence can access the region. Parking will also be banned from 10 pm on July 4th until 10 pm on July 7th. Cargo and discharge will also be prohibited at these dates and times. There will be a grid in the accesses of access to the waterfront and reinforcement of CET-Rio and the Municipal Guard.

Ipanema and Leblon: released transit, but without leisure area on the waterfront. Parking will be banned from 10 pm on July 4th until 10 pm on July 7th. Cargo and discharge also prohibited at these dates and times. CET-Rio and GM will act on the crossings.

Red Line: Main route will be used for entourage displacements, with trailers positioned at strategic points and scouts to pass the heads of state.

South Zone Word: It will be access route to hotels in Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon.
