Rafael Grossi, CEO of the International Atomic Energy Agency (Maae), said Iran is likely to be able to produce enriched uranium “within a few months”. Israel launched attacks on nuclear facilities, military leaders or leading nuclear scientists Iran on 13 June. The aim was to prevent Tehran from getting nuclear weapons, but Iran repeatedly refused. According to AFP, however, it is also a key question whether Iran has been able to move some of the supplies of highly enriched uranium before the attacks. “We don’t know where this material could be … part could be destroyed, but one could also move,” Grossi admitted to CBS. But US President Donald Trump said in a special interview for Fox News that he said Iran did not manage to move supplies.
Iranian deputies recently voted to suspend cooperation with MAAE and Tehran refused Grossi’s request to visit damaged nuclear facilities, recalls AFP.
