Datafolha survey released on Friday (27), points out that more than half of Brazilians are ashamed of the ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). According to the survey, 58% of respondents say they embarrass the ministers of the Supreme, while 30% say they are proud of the court.
The survey is based on answers to the question: “You are more proud than shame or more ashamed than pride” of a series of institutions. 2,004 people were heard in 136 municipalities, between June 10 and 11. The margin of error is two percentage points, more or less.
Party-political preference was relevant to the research. Declared supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), currently a defendant in action tried by the first class of the Court, which analyzes his participation in a coup plot after the 2022 elections were even more negative about the STF, with 82% of respondents stating to be ashamed of the court.

Already among the voters of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), 52% are proud of the ministers, while 36% are ashamed; 12% of respondents did not position themselves.
Per game
The worst rate for the Court-91% against 5%-is among Bolsonaro’s PL supporters who was the target of a $ 22.9 million fine for “bad faith litigation” after the attempt to nullify the votes of 279,300 electronic ballot boxes in the 2022 elections.
Respondents who declared a preference for the PT show the opposite and with a smaller statistical difference: 53% proud against 36% of people who are ashamed of the court.

The religious preference of the interviewees also indicates differences. Catholics are 33% proud of the magistrates, while the embarrasses are 56%. In the group of evangelicals, 66% say they are ashamed of the ministers and 22% are proud.
The survey also reveals that among the people who consider the current government great or good, 57% say they are proud of the STF. Already among those who consider the management of President Lula bad or terrible, only 10% are proud of the ministers.
STF rejection rates are similar to that of other powers. 56% of respondents said President Lula’s ashamed, 59% said they were ashamed of the current deputies and 59% feel ashamed of the senators. The survey also pointed out that 55% of Brazilians are more proud than the shame of the military.
