Russian Minister of Culture visited North Korea at the invitation

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Strategic Partnership Treaty, the Russian delegation was visited by Pyongyang. The countries have deepened cooperation since then.

Russian Minister of Culture Olga Ľubimovová visited North Korea on the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of a strategic partnership contract between the two countries. The North Korean state media reported on Sunday, writes TASR, according to Jonhap.

The delegation of the Russian Ministry of Culture arrived on Saturday to Pyongyang at the invitation of the North Korean Ministry of Culture.

Both countries signed a bilateral treaty on 19 June last year during a visit to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the invitation of North Korean leader Kim Jong-una. The contract contains a mutual defense clause. Since then, Russia and the DPRK have deepened their cooperation in the military area and Pyongyang has sent thousands of soldiers to fight on the side of Moscow in the war against Ukraine.

Before visiting Ľubimovová, the performers from the Pyatnice Corps and the Goble Moscow National Academic Theater of Dance arrived in Pyongyang. The Pjatnický choir is known for performing at North Korean cultural festivals during the anniversary of the birth of the founder of the DPRK Kim Ir-Sen 15 April.
