By 51 votes in favor and 49 against, the US Senate approved the opening of the bill nicknamed President Donald Trump of “Big Beautiful Bill”, which aims at tax cuts and increased spending in the country. In a publication on his Truth profile, the Republican called the act of “Great Victory.”
“We will make our economy grow, reduce spending, protect our border,” he wrote. If approved, the project can deprive free health access to millions of Americans, as well as add more than $ 3 trillion to the country’s debt.

Two members of the Trump party opposed the opening, joining all the Democrats. Republicans, keeping an eye on the 2026 middle term elections, are divided over the package; Medicaid is one of these inflection points, as it would leave about 8.6 million people without medical care.
The spending cut plan would also revert many of the tax incentives for renewable energy implemented by Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden.
Trump has pressured the bill to be approved by July 4, a US Independence Day holiday.
