Coach Filipe Luís made a point of recognizing Bayern Munich’s superiority after the elimination of Flamengo on Sunday (29) at the Club World Cup. The German team won 4-2 and received praise from the red-black coach during the post-game news conference.
Filipe highlighted the pressure exerted by Bayern in the Flamengo defense field. The Germans opened 2-0 and, even after the red-black diminished the difference, they were imposing difficulties for leaving the Brazilian team.
“We took the first corner goal and took the second goal in a flaw in the ball. Then we had a lot of volume and were able to score the first goal. From that moment, when Bayern took us to our area, we couldn’t get out,” said Philip.
The flamenco coach continued with his speech, highlighting also tactical and physical aspects of the Bavarian team.
“It’s a team with immense quality. They don’t lose the ball, they suffocate you, their post-loss pressure is very strong, physically they left. We tried to go out a few times in counterattack with Arrascaeta and Plata, and they came back with six, seven players at the same time. It’s a team superior to us, and so they went,” he concluded.
Classified for the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup, which ran over Inter Miami 4-0, also this Sunday.
