The former President of the Republic, (PL), said on Sunday (29), that “logically” does not want to be arrested or killed, and asked support to elect deputies and allied senators in 2026. “If you give me, during next year’s elections, 50% of the House and 50% of the Senate, I change the destination of Brazil,” he said. With this support, he said that it will be possible to elect the presidents of the two houses, chair the main commissions and make the indications for the regulatory agencies and the Central Bank (BC). “I don’t want this to pursue anyone. I don’t want this for revanchism. I want this for the future of my Brazil. I have no obsession with power,” continued the former president, ineligible until 2030, by decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Bolsonaro’s speech was preceded by speech by federal deputies and senators, including his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), one of the main names listed to run for the Presidency of the Republic, when Bolsonaro will be ineligible. The former president said at the time on Paulista Avenue, who does not need to be president of Brazil again. “I say more: neither do I need to be president; Valdemar Costa Neto, president of PL keeping me as president of honor of the liberal party, we will do it for you,” he said. Bolsonaro said that, as a PL leader, he also changes the country’s fate.
