A Justice of São Paulo granted provisional freedom Edson Freire Vieira Júnior, CET agent (São Paulo Traffic Engineering Company), arrested in the act for drunk driving while in service. The determination was made in Custody hearing held on Monday (30).
Edson was arrested on the night of last Sunday (29), at Rua da Abolição, central São Paulo, After causing an accident with a company car.

- Monthly attendance in court to inform and justify their activities;
- Obligation to keep the address updated with the competent Court (immediately informing any change);
- prohibition of absent from the district of residence for more than eight days without prior communication to the court;
- bail in the amount of R $ 3 thousand.
Understand the arrest of the CET agent
According to the police report, the agent, identified as Edson Freire Vieira Júnior, was. After returning to CET’s official vehicle, he collided with a car that was regularly parked on the road.
A witness reported, in a statement, that the agent presented Evident signs of drunkennessas an imbalance, speaks pasty and lack of motor coordination. According to her, Edson tried to leave the scene after the crash, but had the key to the vehicle withdrawn and the Military Police were fired.
At the scene, the PMs found the agent’s altered state and gave a prison voice. Edson refused to perform the alcohol test and was taken to the 78th Police District along with the owner of the car hit.
The delegate on duty concluded that there were enough elements to configure the crime of driving under the influence of alcohol, provided for in article 306 of the Brazilian Traffic Code. The arrest in the act was ratified, and Edson was collected to jail.
Bail was set in the amount of R $ 6,000, taking into account the primacy of the agent, his economic conditions and, especially, the severity of the conduct – for being in service, uniformed and driving a public vehicle at the time of the crime.
