While female pop stars used to be played against each other (such as Christina Aguilera vs. Britney Spears in the beginning of the 2000s) and due to the lack of alternatives and handling of these staged bitches, a younger generation relies on cohesion. There is finally more space at the top, not least because women fought for this place. The now also manifests itself in festival line-ups. This year’s Primavera sound festival was contested by three pop headliners: Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX, who spread roses in advance at every occasion.
