STF Minister Cristiano Zanin ordered the arrest of the 3 investigated and the mayor’s removal. It also ordered passport blockade. The Court mentioned the persistence of the group, which continued with the leaks even after previous operations performed in Tocantins.
Intercepted messages show communications among the investigated, with phrases such as: “Hi, boss. STJ WALKED EVERYTHING”In another message sent to the mayor, one of the contacts said:“It is a source of mine from Brasilia. Said the decision goes out in hours”.
The identity of the STJ employee suspected of leaking the information has not yet been revealed, as well as the total extension of the documents accessed by the group. The investigation remains in progress in the Supreme Court.
In an official note released by “Fantastic”, The mayor’s defense stated that he“trust in the judiciary and are sure that everything will be clarified”.
Police Marco Albernaz has declared himself innocent and said he will appeal the decision. The defense of Antonio Ianowich Filho was not found to comment on the case. The STJ said it does not comment on investigations in progress in the Supreme Court.
