The earthquake with the thickness of 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred on Monday at 12.37 p.m. This was followed by several aftershocks. According to the Italian Institute for Geophysics and Vulkanology (INGV), the epicenter was located at a depth of almost five kilometers off the coast of the small town of Bacoli, one of the nine municipalities in the volcano -active phlegraic fields.
