Although the tastes, in particular the culinary ones, should not be discussed, lovers of extremely sweet treats, at the forefront of pistachio lists will be placed baklava. This dessert comes from Turkey, but you can easily make it at home, playing the taste you met on vacation. We’ll tell you a simple one Baklawa recipe with pistachios.
Among the oriental desserts that are known all over the world, one of the most popular is of course Baklawa. It comes from TurkeyHowever, it is also prepared in others Balkan countries, e.g. Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Greece. Likewise The oldest mention of this delicacy comes from 1473which fell on the times of the Ottoman Empire. In the past, in many countries, this dessert was prepared on the occasion of various worlds, it was also synonymous with luxury and prosperity.
Baklawa or Baklava, is prepared from many layers of filo cake – which is made on the basis of flour, water, olive oil and salt, individual patches are very thin, they are about half a millimeter thick. They are translated nut or pistachio mass. Dough tops are also lubricated with melted butter. The finished dessert is usually cut into the shape of squares or rhombuses. After baking, the whole is poured sweet syrup based on water, lemon juice, honey or sugar. Sometimes it is also used for soaking rose water. It is used for decoration crushed nuts, usually Italian or pistachios.
Filo cake You can do at home, but if you care about time, you can use a ready product from the store. Also prepare the right form, a 30 × 40 cm or 30 × 45 cm sheet will work best, because this is the size of the filo cake most often.
To prepare this delicious dessert like from vacation on a Turkish riviera, you will need:
- 1 pack of filo cake,
- 1 cube of butter,
- 60 g of shelled pistachios,
- 20 g cukru,
- A pinch of cinnamon.
Ingredients for sugar syrup:
- 150 ml of water
- 130 g cukru,
- 50 g of honey,
- 1 lemon.
Preparation:
- Finely chop the pistachios, mix with sugar and cinnamon.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. In the meantime, heat the oven to 160 degrees.
- Brush the form with butter, arrange the first top of the dough, smear it with dissolved butter, then arrange and smear another five layers.
- Sprinkle a third of the pistachios, then insert the piece of dough and smear it with butter. Repeat five times.
- Again, pour a third portion of pistachios, lay a third layer of six tops of cake smeared with butter.
- Sprinkle the top of the dessert with the remaining part of the pistachios. Cut the dessert into squares or diamonds.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for two hours.
- Bry the lemon with boiling water and grate the skin from it.
- In the meantime, boil water in a pot, add sugar, honey, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and lemon zest. Set aside
- After baking, pour the baklava with ready syrup and wait until it cools down.
