The Office of the Inspection Service (NEW) examines the suspicion of abuse of the authority of the public official in connection with Saturday (28 June) by the incident in Velka Ide in the Kosice-okolie district. TASR informed the spokeswoman Andrea Dobiášová.
“Over the weekend, the police have ensured the necessary evidence, analyzed videos from buildings in the village and are currently analyzing videos from body cameras that the cops had on each other. We will be able to provide more information later,” she said.
Police reported that there was a serious disturbance of the public order in which hundreds of people from the local community were involved. Several patrols intervened on the spot, using coercive means and warning shots. Criminal prosecution is already conducted.
Given the public interest, as well as the discussion that was established in the public space, the authorized President of the Police Force (PZ) Jan Maškarová ordered a control from the Presidium of the Police Police. The incident also plans to check the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Roma Communities. He stated that, according to the first information from the witnesses of the event, the police were to use disproportionate use of various coercive means.
