The parents also reported that the team that took tourists to Rinjani, a trail considered challenging and dangerous, had only a rope as rescue equipment. “The culprits, in my understanding, are the guide, who left Juliana alone to smoke, 40 or 50 minutes, took her eyes. The company that sells the tours, because these tours are sold in a stall as easy to do. But the first culprit, which I consider the biggest culprit, is the park coordinator.

The accident occurred around 4am. The Civil Defense only arrived at the scene around 19h. Juliana died from the injuries caused by the fall and her body was only rescued days later.
