Vienna – The majority of the townspeople would sacrifice parking spaces for more green and even pay for it. This is shown by a study by the University of Natural Research (BOKU) Vienna, for which city dwellers from all over Austria were interviewed. According to this, 65 percent of the respondents would pay up to 45 euros annually as local tax if new city green in their area contributes noticeably to improve air quality and temperature – even with longer distances to the apartment of up to ten minutes.
