Cold wave: More than 30 cities gaucho record negative temperatures

Rio Grande do Sul dawned with negative temperatures in at least 35 cities This Tuesday (1st). The lowest temperature was recorded in Santana do Livramento, on the West Frontier, which marked 6.6 ° C, according to the State Civil Defense.

  • Victor Graeff: -2.4ºC

With the temperature very low, it had a frost record in as is the case of São José dos Ausentes.

The Civil Defense also issued a warning about the possibility of black ice formation on Tuesday. Drivers must have Serra Gaucha and Campos de Cima da Serra. The phenomenon is characterized by a thin layer of ice that forms on the asphalt on the roads and also on bridges.

From Wednesday (2), there should be no more black ice formation, according to Climatempo, as moisture will decrease with the strong presence of cold air of polar origin. However, the conditions for frost will still be high in the three states of the southern region.

The cold wave acts very strongly on Thursday and Friday, and should weaken only over the weekend.
