Film released in Brazil on the last Thursday (26.jun) surpassed initial projections and brand best release of Apple in theaters
The movie “F1”, starring Brad Pitt, raised $ 144 million (about $ 788 million) worldwide during its first weekend on display, according to the site data. The production premiered in Brazilian theaters on the last Thursday (26.jun.2024). The result marks a new record for the cinematic distributor.
The filming took place during real competitions of the championship. The approach allowed the inclusion of professional pilots of the category in the feature film, which brought more authenticity to production.
The work is directed by Joseph Kosinski, same director of “Top Gun: Maverick”. The box office performance overcame the initial projections of the industry experts, according to the portal information Deadline. It’s the best debut result for an Apple movie in theaters so far.
The plot of “F1” tells the story of Sonny Hayes, a character who returns to the running world after retiring. He assumes the role of mentor of a young and promising pilot. The narrative shows the protagonist’s challenges, which faces past trauma related to a serious accident that pushed him from the tracks while trying to lead the Apex Grand Prix team to success in competitions.
The cast includes, in addition to Pitt, actors like Javier Bardem, known as “Where the weak have no time”Damson Idris, of “Snowfall”and Kerry Condon, who acted in “OS dye Inishin”.
