A moment of panic became a story of courage and paternal instinct aboard the Disney Dream ship during a cruise between the Bahamas and the United States. Last Sunday, a girl fell into the sea while her father photographed her by the deck bars. Without hesitation, the man immediately threw himself into the ocean to save her.
The warning of “man to the sea” was quickly triggered and the ship’s crew reacted with great effectiveness. The captain reduced the velocity of the boat and turned, while an auxiliary boat was launched to rescue father and daughter. Both were safely removed from the water a few minutes later, thanks to the performance of the Disney Cruise Line team.
“The ship was moving very fast … In seconds, they disappear into the sea like small points,” reported a passenger, still impressed with the speed of the operation.
Disney has confirmed the incident, praising the competence of its crew: “We congratulate our crew for exceptional skills and rapid actions, which ensured the safe return of the two passengers.”
