The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, IP, was present at the inauguration of the XI Festival of Perve, held in Vila do Bispo, representing Elsa Cordeiro, vice president of the Board of Directors. At the time, the leader highlighted the importance of the event as an initiative that “symbolizes the perfect union between culture, economy, tradition and future”.

“The realization, seafood of excellence that characterizes the Vincentian coast, is a natural resource of enormous value and its caught requires courage, traditional knowledge and deep respect for nature,” said Elsa Cordeiro, also underlining the fundamental role of “local seafood, guardians of this knowledge, whose activity contributes to the economic dynamization” of the municipality of Vila do Bispo and all the Vicentine coast.
Organized by the municipality of Vila do Bispo in partnership with the Vila do Bispo and Costa Vicentina Seafood Association, the Perverse Festival has been affirming itself as a reference event in the regional gastronomic scenario. The quality of the seafood served is guaranteed by the association, a determining factor for the growth of the number of visitors throughout its eleven editions.

In the context of generation relations established with the Spanish municipalities of Santa Fe (Andalusia) and Baiona (Galicia), Vila do Bispo received the official delegations of these cities during June 27 and 28. His participation in the Festival of Perie came to reinforce the bonds of friendship, institutional cooperation and cultural exchange between the three communities.
The event thus reaffirms itself as a celebration of the local identity, valuing the natural resources of the Vicentine coast and promoting a development model anchored in tradition and respect for nature.
