The economic team will present to the National Congress a new proposal to cut the tax benefits, said Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, on Tuesday (1st). The set of measures should be sent to congressmen after the parliamentary recess.
“We will make a proposal for Congress after the recess, based on the conversations that were kept with the leaders that Sunday. As it will probably not be a constitutional amendment, they asked to preserve the constitutional benefits,” said Haddad.
After the National Congress overturned the Government’s decree that increases the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations), the House of Representatives should guide on Tuesday (1st) the urgency of a bill (PL) that reviews tax benefits.
