In the ranks of Esquerra Republicana (ERC) you look in detail the panorama that, for now, leaves. The continuity of the legislature in Madrid depends on that angular proposals within the Roadmap of the Republicans, such as singular financing or, throw forward and hence the concern. That situation partly explains a certain care in ERC forms, which squeeze but do not drown their partners. Issues that at another time had made sparks to navigate now with another mood. The last example of this has been this Monday. “That the financing model for Catalonia is extrapolated to other CC AA does not mean that it is not unique,” said the spokesman for the independence formation, Isaac Albert, when asked about some statements by the Government’s vice president, María Jesús Montero.
“The next financing model will have to incorporate recognition of singularities and the territorial diversity of our country but for all, not only for Catalonia,” Montero said last Sunday ,. The candidate to beat with Juan Manuel Moreno for the presidency of the Board also explained that singular financing will not be signed for Catalonia outside a global reform of the financing model for all communities.

Albert has framed the statements in the pre -election context of the vice president and has insisted that “from a technical point”, the proposal that is being worked for Catalonia. The spokesman recalled that this happens because the Generalitat collects and manages all taxes, gives a quota of territorial solidarity and pays the State for the services it provides, two magnitudes still to be calculated.
In the case of Catalonia, Albert recalled, the additional competences that already have and its cost must be taken into account, for example the Mossos. And apart from that calculation more accommodated to the current reality of regional financing, the spokesman believes that other CC AA may agree to maintain ordinality in receiving resources or doubt whether to accept or not have more legislative capacity. Nor does it mean that all communities embrace him with the same desire, ”he added.
“We have a pool in which there is water, there is not enough water to throw ourselves in the head and what we need is that there will be will, that this pool continues to fill,” the spokesman exemplified to explain how a negotiation that seemed frozen has been unbridled. And above all, as the negotiation of future pacts will be addressed. Albert has denied that it has already been opened and has insisted on the thesis that no more commitments will be accepted until those on the table are satisfied. “Willing to talk about other issues always, while we have the feeling that we are moving forward. We will not validate them if we do not feel they do not respond,” he specified.
However, in ERC they know that the situation of the PSOE in Congress is very weakened by the corruption scandals that, for the moment, dot the last two secretaries of party organization and that this volatility goes against the reforms. “The political moment is complex, it does everything more difficult without a doubt,” Albert accepted. Last Saturday, in the National Consell of Republicans, President Oriol Junqueras also recognized the need to seduce the rest of Pedro Sánchez’s partners. “It must be the best possible agreement for Catalonia, but it must also be a good agreement for many who will vote in Congress,” he said,
Gerardo Pisarello, leader of Comuns, said Monday at a press conference that Catalonia “deserves” singular financing, something that sees “compatible” with the improvement of financing for other CC AA. Hence, he has been “convinced” that there are “arguments to be left over” to gather a majority of deputies in Congress. The number two of the PSC, Luïsa Moret, has insisted that it will not get into how the financing of other territories has to be and that its party will defend “the singularity” of Catalonia. Junts, on the other hand, sees “trilerism” in breach of the dates.
