Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new division of “superintelligence” within the Platforms meta, officially organizing an effort that has been the object of intense recruitment in recent months.
Former Scale CEO Alexandr Wang will lead the team as director of Artificial Intelligence and former Github CEO Nat Friedman, will lead the company’s work in AI products, according to an internal memorandum that Zuckerberg sent to employees and was viewed by The Wall Street Journal.
The so -called Metal Superintelligence Labs will house the Fundamental AI of the Goal Research team, also known as FAIR.

Zuckerberg also announced 11 new signings for the team – several from OpenAi, two from Google Deepmind and one from Anthropic. The Facebook owner also hired three more OpenAi employees in her Zurich office, as reported by WSJ previously.
“As the rhythm of AI progress accelerates, the development of the superintelligence is approaching,” wrote the CEO in the memorandum. “I believe this will be the beginning of a new era for humanity, and I am totally committed to doing whatever is necessary for the goal to lead the way.”
