"Medical gold". Extracted wisdom tooth cells can treat various diseases

A vascular cavity that keeps the wisdom tooth alive can be the key to treating disease – have incredible transformation capacity.

Millions of people extract daily to wisdom teeth – those who are not even born in many but who can give some problems. Scientists have just realized that they may be more use out out than inside the mouth.

All this because these teeth hide valuable dental stem cells inside.

Each wisdom tooth houses a soft core called dental pulp – A vascular cavity that keeps the tooth alive.

Scientists isolated cells resident in this pulp that behave as immature builders of the body, with the capacity to transform into neurons, cardiac muscle or bonewhen properly stimulated in the laboratory.

“This transition from the expression of markers to a genuine electrical activity is essentialBecause damaged brain circuits need cells that can send signals, ”explains researcher Gaskon Ibarretxe.

Preclinical studies show that dental pulp cells can alleviate motor symptoms in mice models with Parkinson’s disease.

Researchers are planning multicenter essays that compare implants of Dental pulp cells with a standard deep cerebral stimulation in the treatment of movement disorders.

If these cells restore functions and reduce health costs, dentists may soon offer a preservation kit along with postoperative ice packages-as Earth writes, the wisdom tooth may well become a true “medical gold.”
