Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) did not attend the act in support of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), held on Sunday (29), on Paulista Avenue. Even though he is one of the main names of the liberal party and ally near Bolsonaro, Nikolas was absent to participate in a wedding in Belo Horizonte.
The deputy missed the act because he would be godfather of his cousin marriage with a close friend in Minas Gerais. According to Nikolas’ staff, his absence had already been justified to the party and Jair Bolsonaro himself was aware of the commitment.
Even so, the deputy was criticized by his followers on social networks. Hours before the act, Nikolas made a publication on his X (former Twitter) profile asking for the amnesty of the convicts for the scammers of January 8. The post had over 380,000 views and several comments questioning their absence in the demonstration.

In addition to Nikolas, Jair Bolsonaro’s wife and PL President Michelle Bolsonaro, also did not attend Paulista on the grounds that he would be at another party event in Roraima.
The manifestation
The act on Paulista Avenue brought together parliamentarians, former ministers of state and allied governors, under the motto “Justice Já”. In addition to Bolsonaro, federal deputies and senators, including their son Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) used the stage to speak.
The governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), one of the main names listed to run for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026, when Bolsonaro will be ineligible, referred to the former president as “the greatest political leader in history”, shouting “out, PT” and “Volta, Bolsonaro”.

Although participants of the act have requested amnesty those arrested by January 8, the speeches focused on criticism of the Lula government and the Supreme Court (STF), and from the electoral perspectives for 2026.
The demonstration brought together about 12,400 people, according to an analysis of the public debate monitor of the Digital Environment, from the University of São Paulo (USP). .
