Space has been closed since 2019, when it was devastated by a fire
As Torres da Cathedral de Notre-Dame de devastated by a fire in 2019, opened their doors to the public on September 20, announced the Center for National Monuments (CMN) on September 20. “The goal is next September 20, due to the European heritage hours,” the president of the government agency who manages the monument, Marie Lavandier, told the Ouest-France newspaper. The work in the two towers that frame the monumental facade of the building consisted mainly of structural consolidations, especially in the bells, damaged by the fire, and the terrace, located 69 meters high.
The new route will be “more fluid, rich and following safety standards” and will propose “an immersion of about 50 minutes in Gothic architecture,” said Lavandier. The new circuit will start in the South Tower. After climbing 424 steps, visitors will see “an exceptional panorama of Paris and will observe the rebuilt” needle. The visit will end in the North Tower restored in 2023 and 2024. Only 400,000 visitors will be admitted annually, in contrast to the 450,000 before the fire. Tickets will be on sale in September on the internet and will cost 16 euros (R $ 103, at the current price), six more than the previous price.
