According to the company, the plan will be executed within 45 days and includes structural interventions to divert sewage from damaged pipe to other structures
The company responsible for the basic sanitation in São Paulo, recently presented an action plan to face the problem of unreeded sewage eviction in the Tietê River. The action came after a notification of (Cetesb), which took place last Friday. The notification was a response to the sewage being dumped near a crater opened on May 11 on the central lane of the region. The crater, which has not yet been completely repaired, has been a challenge for Sabesp, which claims difficulties in the execution of the necessary works.
On Monday following the notification, Sabesp held a meeting with Cetesb and other São Paulo State Government authorities to discuss and launch an action plan. According to Sabesp, the plan will be executed within 45 days and includes structural interventions to divert sewage from damaged pipe to other structures. The damaged pipe, which was filled with debris, resulted in the dump of sewage in Tietê.
