Three years later, Presidents Putin and Macron speak again on the phone

During the call of more than two hours, Emmanuel Macron asked Vladimir Putin a “Firefire” “as soon as possible” in Ukraine and spoke about the nuclear program of Iran. The two presidents had not talked since the beginning of the war in 2022.

France President Emmanuel Macron and his Russian homologist Vladimir Putin spoke on Tuesday on the phone for more than two hours about the war in Ukraine and the nuclear program of Iran.

During the call, Macron ordered Putin a ceasefire in Ukraine “as soon as possible,” as well as the beginning of negotiations “to find a solid and lasting solution to the conflict,” according to an official statement from the Elisha Palace.

Regarding Iran, the French head of state stressed the need for Iran “fully to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency” and “fulfill the obligations that incubate to it by the TNP (Nuclear Weapon Non -Proliferation Treaty)”.

The two presidents, who have not spoken since 2022, at the beginning of the war in Ukraine, should continue conversations on both topics, says the Elisha Palace.
