The 2026 elections are approaching and the discussions do not leave out one of the main names in Acrean policy: the mayor of Cruzeiro do Sul, Zequinha Lima, who talked to the report of ContilNet This Monday (30), during the preparations of Expoacre Juruá 2025.
Zequinha was reelected in 2024 in a fierce dispute against former deputy Jessica Sales, who was defeated by less than 200 votes. Asked about the intentions for 2026, the politician did not rule out any possibility, but said he is a candidate to finish his term.

“Cruzeiro do Sul is still a reference in Acre politics. It is natural to finish one election and people start speculating about the other. The Acre likes politics. I am a great candidate to continue my term for 4 years. Now, in politics you can not always command yourself because you are always available,” he said.
“I think this is not the time for me. I need to work for those who helped reelect me, so I want to do a good term, I want to be well politically, with the population. I want to take the 4 years of office, leave a legacy in this city and fulfill the promises I made in the campaign,” he added.
The politician made a point of saying that he will not be out of the campaign and has been courted to enter the dispute for a place in the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac) or the Federal Chamber.
“I will be in the campaign, being a candidate or not. The great probability is that I am as electoral cable of the people who were with me,” he said.
“It’s natural to receive invitations. And I respect all these people because if they come to invite me, it is because we see in us a potential to dispute and earn an election. But I am very retracted and cautious in these questions, careful in these questions. In politics you can not be in a hurry, I learned this with the experience of more than 30 years of politics. My efforts today is so that we can make a good term,” he said.
