At least 4 die in tanker wreck on the Suez channel

A Petronhoiro Ship of ADE HOLDING COMPANY WUNNED ON Tuesday (1st.Jul.2025) in the Suez Canal, Egyptian region used for transport and exploitation of fossil fuel. The incident, which took place with the Admarine 12 vessel, left at least 4 dead. Security teams rescue 23 of the 30 people on board, while 3 are missing.

In a statement, Saudi oil explorer said she is committed to providing support to affected families and will do an investigation “Complete and thorough” of the incident. This is the note (PDF – 36 KB).

“The company is working closely with local authorities and emergency services, with the safety and well-being of all employees as their greatest priority.”said the company statement.

The incident came when the barge unit, vessels used to transport cargo that was at the southern entrance of the Suez Canal, was towed elsewhere. The company did not report on leakage of oil or other liquids that would lead to environmental problems.

Despite the accident, the Suez channel was not affected and the operations continues. The channel concentrates 12% of global maritime trade, being one of the main routes of fossil fuel transport between Europe and Asia.
