The National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT) announced on Tuesday the holding of a Training Course for Road Transportation of Hazardous Products.

The action brought together 47 public agents from ten institutions with direct or indirect acting in the logistics operations preceding the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), scheduled for November in the capital of Pará.

The training was held on June 23 and 27 and organized by the Superintendence of Road Transport Services of Cargo and Passengers (Sufis).

The training was structured to meet requests from state public agencies that identified the need for specialized technical training to deal with the increase in cargo flow during the climate event.

For a week, participants received instructions on inspection procedures, identification of hazardous products, current legislation and security measures.

The objective is to standardize the technical and operational understanding among the teams that work on the Pará highways, preparing them to ensure safer operations in the period before and during COP30.

Among the institutions present were ANTT, National Petroleum Agency (ANP), Federal Highway Police (PRF), National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), Pará Military Fire Department (CBMP), Pará Military Police Policing Battalion (BPRV/PMPA), State and Municipal Civil Defense, Docas do Pará and State Secretariat of Finance (SEFA/PA).

The program combined theoretical classes and practical exercises, addressing topics such as hazardous product classification, inspection procedures and emergency response.

Training is part of a set of security and logistical planning measures that have been adopted by several institutions to ensure that COP30, which will bring together global leaders to discuss the future of climate, happen safely and organization in Belém.
