The Federal District rejected an action filed by the Federal Deputy (Rede-PE) against the councilman (PL-RJ) for use of corporate card during the government of (PL), his father.
In his initial question, Gadêlha contested the fact that Carlos funded his accommodation in 2021 in a hotel in Brasilia with the presidency, then occupied by Bolsonaro.
The deputy asked for the compensation of R $ 2,300, more fines and additions, which corresponded to 11 nights.
The deputy said that Carlos had no position in the government, but a mandate as councilor for the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Federal Judge Waldemar Claudio de Carvalho, from the 14th Court of the Federal District, said that “there is no evidence of deviation of purpose, violation of administrative principles or effective damage to the treasury” in this case.
Carvalho states that the legislation allows the use of the corporate card for the security of the President’s family members and that the specific expense has passed and was approved in accountability.
The judge cites the position of the Federal Public Prosecution Service on the subject. “Thus, in theory, the defendant, as the son of the then President of the Republic, could use the act now questioned by the plaintiff.”
