Manuel Matias denies any connection to Facebook group allegedly linked to the Lusitano Armillary Movement, a NeoNazi organization under investigation and claims to be the target of an attack with political motivations.
Manuel Matias, a former arrival advisor and father of Mrs Rita Matias, on Tuesday a criminal complaint in the Attorney General’s Office.
The militant of the arrival wants to be investigated criminal responsibilities for the news that has associated it with a Facebook group allegedly linked to the Lusitano Armillary Movement, a neo -Naiza organization that is being investigated by the Judicial Police.
Two weeks ago, six members of the Lusitano Armillary Movement were arrested by the Judiciary Police, on suspicion of terrorist activities, incitement to hatred and violence, and possession of a banned weapon. He was weighted within the group an eventual attack on the Assembly of the Republic and the invasion of the Belém Palace.
According to the authorities, the youth recruitment was done online, through the application Telegram and other social networks. It was also in the virtual space that the paths of Manuel Matias and some of the members of the Neonazi group will have crossed, specifically in a private group on Facebook.
Manuel Matias guarantees that he was unaware of the group’s activities and rejects any connection to the Lusitano Armilar Movement. The lawyer and former deputy of the arrival argues that integrating an online group is not equivalent to belonging to an far right organization.
He also states that he is being the target of an attack with political motivations and questions the reasons why his name was associated with his daughter, the deputy of the arrival Rita Matias. The deputy refused to comment on the case.
The criminal complaint is now in the hands of the Attorney General’s Office.
