In recent years, rail transport has been experiencing a renaissance and offers passengers not only comfort, but also the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views while traveling on holiday.

Aktuality.sk has prepared an overview of the most interesting train connections, thanks to which you can find yourself in your favorite seaside destinations in just a few hours.

Croatia – Split

If you want to get on the train in the evening and wake up in the morning at the Adriatic Sea, traveling the EURONight night train will be an ideal choice for you.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Railway Company Slovakia (ZSSK) with the Austrian carrier ÖBB, passengers can use the euronight night train, which goes from Bratislava to Croatian Split three times a weekuntil 13 October 2025.

The train goes from the Bratislava-Nové Mesto station at 16:00 and from the Bratislava-Petržalka station at 17:01. It comes to Split the next morning shortly after 10 am.

The ticket price depends on the date of purchase and the current occupancy, but it starts at 39.90 euros. For a four -member family, the way to the Adriatic can start at 120 euros.

Poland – Gdynia and Gdansk

Traveling by train from Slovakia to the Baltic Sea is easier today than ever. Slovaks can easily go to popular seaside towns such as Gdansk or Gdynia.

Direct and transfer connections lead through the Czech Republic, which launched a special line on the route Prague – Pardubice – Wroclaw – Gdansk – Gdyňa. It offers modern train kits with Wi-Fi, air conditioning and refreshments that operate four times a day in both directions. Passengers for approximately 8 and a half hours They are imported to the seaside triple square (Gdynia, Gdansk and Sopot).

You can also choose to Venicethat lie on the Adriatic coast and where the train will bring you in about 11 hours. Ticket prices start at 74.90 euros per seat, the deckchair costs 124.90 euros and a bed cab for one to three people costs almost 170 euros.

Bulgaria – Varna

Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria and the largest seaside city on the Bulgarian coast of the Black Sea. It is also popularly called the “sea capital” of Bulgaria.

Varna has beautiful sandy beaches and promenade right by the sea. The surroundings of the city also include well -known resorts such as Golden Sands, Albena or Balčik, which are only a few kilometers from the city.

For Slovaks it is ideal to travel to Varna by train from Budapest. The road leads through the Hungarian Szob, Romanian Timisoara, as well as Rus, which is the fifth largest city in Bulgaria.
