Guardian counselor Erivalda Silva de Menezes reported that the Guardianship Council was fired by the Copom (Military Police Operations Center), which received a complaint about the presence of a minor allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the event. The occurrence was attended with the support of the Military Police and a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).
“When we arrived at the scene, we were informed that the teenager had drunk alcohol. It is still unclear if he made use of other substances. He had to be intubated and is still hospitalized under medical care,” said the counselor.
After help, the teenager was taken to the hospital without being accompanied by family members. The Guardianship Council attended the health unit and began the steps to locate the boy’s mother, in order to ensure family monitoring and the facts.
The situation reinforces the concern with the presence of unaccompanied minors in large public events. Erivalda warned of parents’ responsibility and the legal prohibition of alcohol supply to minors. “It is a crime to sell or offer alcohol to adolescents. Parents need to be present and attentive, especially in environments with facilitated access to alcohol,” he said.
Expoacre Juruá, which takes place until next Saturday (6), continues to attract large audiences every night, requiring greater supervision and attention from the responsible agencies.
