Who is Nicolás Jarry?

Jarry is a Chilean professional tennis player born October 10, 1995, in Santiago, Chile. He became a professional in 2014 and plays with his right hand, using two -handed backhand.

Jarry’s family lineage is rich in tennis connections. His grandfather, Jaime Fillol, was one of the 20 best players and introduced Jarry to the sport.

Nicolas-grandfather Alvaro Fillol was also a professional and, along with Jaime, led an ATP 250 event in Viña del Mar. His aunt Catalina Fillol, was director of the ATP 250 tournament of Santiago and her uncle, Martin Rodriguez, is a former player of simple top 75 and top 15 doubles.

Nicolás Jarry Career

During the Davis Cup finals, at the end of 2019, Jarry tested positive for forbidden substances (Ligandrol and Estanozolol). As a result, he was suspended from competitions from January 14, 2020.

Later, the ITF decided that Jarry “had no significant failure or negligence for its violation” and the suspension expired on November 15, 2020, allowing it to return to the circuit.
