Liverpool, which confirmed the This Thursday (3), he said he is “devastated” by the loss of the Portuguese athlete and his brother, André. “Liverpool is devastated by Diogo Jota’s tragic death. The club was informed that the 28 -year -old died in a car accident in Spain, along with his brother, André,” the English club said in a statement. “Liverpool will no longer make comments at this time and asks the privacy of the family, friends and teammates of Diogo and André to be respected as they deal with this unimaginable loss. We will continue to give them all our support,” he added.
Diogo Jota, 28, and his 26th brother André died at dawn in a car accident on Estrada A52 in the province of Zamora, Spain. Diogo José Teixeira da Silva, graduated from the Portuguese clubs Gondomar and Paços de Ferreira, was an Atletico Madrid player in 2016 and, later, from Porto, until 2018, when he moved to the English Championship. Since 2020, he was a Liverpool player.
His brother André Felipe Silva was also a soccer player and worked at Penafiel, team of the second division of Portugal.
