The president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Gilberto Waller Júnior, showed concern about the misinformation about fraud in social security benefits of retirees and pensioners.
He commented on the possibility of Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) being chosen CPMI rapporteur who investigates undue discounts in the background: “Our population needs information”.
In an interview with the portal UOLon Wednesday, 2, the INSS president recalled that Nikolas video about INSS fraud had false information and generated concern in many retirees and pensioners.

“One of the criticisms I have was to confuse in a video that he [Nikolas] He made the question of payroll loans with associative discounts, saying that this question of the associative discount generated a loss of 90 billion reais. This is false information, ”says Waller.
The president justifies “if the idea is to inform, if it is transparent, if it is to put clean, whoever, it will be welcome.” He further reinforces: “What we cannot have is, in fact, misinformation is to generate anxiety. Many of our Brazilians were concerned about the associative discount for misinformation, thinking that any and all discount was fraudulent, that their account was fraudulent.”
Waller also stated that “to reassure Brazilians” the government had to communicate 27 million retirees and pensioners that there were no associative discounts, and warning that they would not have to hire a lawyer.

“I love transparency, true transparency, transparency that will bring clarification to the population. If this is the object, I think it is great, what cannot be done is misinformation, it is a situation of bringing the show,” says the president.
Government responded to the video of Nikolas
Members of the government of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and allies used social networks to respond to the video of Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) about the scandal of deviations in the INSS. Published on May 6, the deputy’s recording repeats the same model used in the January viral video about changes in Pix, and accumulated over 134 million views.
In the recording of just over six minutes, Nikolas (with filter to make his appearance aged) states that the fraudulent scheme is the “greatest scandal in Brazil’s history”, makes accusations about the Lula government has not taken action to investigate billionaire deviations, and defends former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL)-whose government was also crossed by INSS frauds.
