Putin also told Trump that Russia is willing to continue negotiating, and has ensured that bilateral negotiations in Türkiye will continue
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have returned to speak again and the Russian President told the American homologist that “he will not retreat in his goals in Ukraine” and that Russia remains focused on “removing the background causes” from war.
To the journalists, quoted by Tass, Yuri Ushakov, advisor to Vladimir Putin, said the calling call between the Russian President and the American homologist, Donald Trump, lasted “almost an hour”, and Putin also told Trump that Russia is willing to continue to negotiate, and assured that bilateral negotiations in Turchy will continue.
During the call, said Ushakov, quoted by Reuters, Trump again raised the question of finishing the Ukraine war “quickly.”
The two leaders did not speak “concretely” about a face to face, said Putin’s advisor, nor about the interruption of the US supply of some weapon for Ukraine.
Presidents of Russia and US also addressed other topics, such as the Gaza Strip and the war between Israel and Iran, and Vladimir Putin congratulated Trump for the July 4 holiday.
“We realized that Russia played a significant role in the formation of the US state, including during the Independence War 250 years ago, and later during the civil war, which ended 160 years ago,” said Ushakov.
