The Russian Ministry of Diplomacy has received the superstition of the new Afghan Ambassador.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that it has adopted the dedicated documents of the new Afghan Ambassador and was the first country in the world to recognize the Taliban government in the Islamic Emirate, Afghanian. This is reported by TASR based on Reuters, AFP and TASS reports.
“We believe that the act of official recognition of the government of the Afghan Islamic Emirate will be an impulse for the development of productive bilateral cooperation between our countries in various areas,” the ministry wrote in a statement.
Taliban flag in Moscow
TASS reported that in the meantime, at the Afghan Embassy in Moscow, its employees exchanged the former flag of the country for the flag used by the Taliban movement. President Putin allegedly decided to recognize his government on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, who wanted to show Moscow’s interest in the development of bilateral relations.
The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the recognition on social network X under a photograph of a meeting of the Russian ambassador in Afghanistan Dmitry Zirnov with the reigning Afghan minister of foreign countries Amir Khan Khan Muttaki.
Russia strengthens relationships
In recent months, Russia has followed the narrower diplomatic and economic relations with Afghanistan. Although several countries have already adopted the Taliban diplomats in their territory, none of them formally recognized the government of the movement as an official government of the country.
The Russian Supreme Court annulled the designation of the Taliban movement as a terrorist group in April this year. A few days later, Moscow announced that the Taliban council in Moscow will promote the embassy and allow Kabul to have its ambassador in Moscow.
