The Swiss footballers experienced a disappointment at the start of the home European Championship. The hosts had to give up on Wednesday in the opening game in Basel on Wednesday after 1-0 break tour. Nadine Riesen had given Switzerland in front of 34,000 spectators (28th). Norway’s top star Ada Hegerberg (54th) and an own goal of Julia Stierli (58.) turned the game. Outsiders Finland had previously defeated Iceland 1-0.
