Several people were injured, including three with serious burns, after the explosion of a gas station on Friday (4) in a neighborhood in the east of Rome, according to press reports.
The explosion in a gasoline, diesel and gas distributor on Via Dei Gordiani was heard throughout the Italian capital.
The local news site Roma Today has published an image showing a huge cloud of smoke and fire well above the gas station.
Rome’s public transport agency, Atac, said it closed the Teano subway station near the scene, following police instructions.
