Ben McLemore, who played for several NBA (National Basketball Association) teams, was considered guilty of rape by a Jury of Clackamas County in Oregon, on Thursday (3.Jul.2025).

The conviction is related to a case that took place on October 3, 2021, released by the ESPN American.

The former player was declared guilty of 3 accusations: 1st degree violation, illegal sexual penetration of 1st degree and sexual abuse of 2nd degree. McLemore was identified as a suspect after police investigate a complaint of sexual assault on Lake Oswego, a city located in Oregon.

The athlete last played at the NBA in 2022, when he defended the Portland Trail Blazers. His career in the main US basketball league began in 2013, when he was selected by the Kings Sacrament, a team where he remained until 2017. After that, McLemore passed Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers before reaching Portland. At the time of the conviction, the player defended Yukatel Merkezefendi from Türkiye.

“We recognize that there are people who fear that individuals with celebrity status or in a prominent position can avoid criminal accusations. But not in Clackamas County. This case shows that my office processes crimes regardless of the offender’s social status.”District Prosecutor John Wentworth said on the case.
