At least 15 people died on Friday (4) in new Israeli attacks, according to the Palestinian Civil Defense Agency. An agency employee Mohamad Al Mughayyir told AFP that seven people, including a child, died in an Israeli air strike against displaced tents near the city of Khan Yunis, southern the Palestinian coast. Mughayyir indicated that eight people died in two attacks on displaced camps on the coast of the same city. Sought by AFP, the Israeli army stated that it could not specificly comment on the attacks without specific missions, but claimed that it acts “to dismantle the military capabilities of Hamas,” the Islamic movement that rules Gaza.
On Thursday, the Gaza Civil Defense Agency reported 73 deaths. Israel recently expanded military operations in the Gaza Strip, where the war, which, started in October 2023, forced the displacement of much of the population, more than two million people. Restrictions on the press in Gaza and the difficulties of access to various points prevent AFP from independently verifying the balance sheets released by the Civil Defense.
