Palestinian soccer player Muhannad Al-Laili died after not resisting the injuries caused by an Israeli air strike that hit his home, located in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in downtown Gaza. The information was released on Thursday (3) by the Palestinian Football Association.
According to the entity, last Monday, a drone hit Muhannad’s room on the third floor of his home. He suffered a serious bleeding in the skull and died on Thursday morning.
Muhannad played for local club Khadamat al Maghazi and tried to move to Norway to live with his newborn wife and son. He could not move in time to meet his son, who was born abroad.
The Palestinian Football Association also reported that the number of athletes killed in the war already reaches about 600 people, 265 from football.
“Since October 7, 2023, the total victims has risen to 585, including 265 Football Martyrs. Occupancy forces have destroyed 264 sports facilities, of which 184 were completely destroyed and 81 partially,” said the entity.
