Rúben Neves shared on social networks a deeply emotional message in honor of Diogo Jota, his best friend. The two Portuguese internationals had a very special connection, which surpassed football.
“Critter, wherever these I know you know you will read this,” Ruben began, recognizing that both were not given to great sentimentality, but now could not contain what he felt. “More than a friendship, we are family, and we will not stop being just because now you decide to sign a contract a little further from us!”
The midfielder promised to keep Jota’s symbolic presence at all times of the selection: at the table, on the bus, on the plane – “you’ll always be there with me, as usual.” He has also pledged to take care of his friend’s family: “I will assure that you never miss your own while you are there, far but thinking about us.”
At the end of the message, he left a note very in the style of the two: “Diogoal, you are my favorite lemon suck! I love you.”
